SCENE 1: A Beautiful Beginning
The sun was beginning to set, casting warm golden hues over the quiet park. The world felt soft in that moment—like a dream unfolding in slow motion. Nero sat on the grass, leaning back on his hands, his gaze fixed on Yelena as she talked animatedly about something he wasn’t really listening to. He was too busy watching her, taking in the way her lips curved when she smiled, the way her eyes lit up when she spoke.
“You’re not even listening, are you?” Yelena narrowed her eyes at him, her hands resting on her hips.
Nero smirked. “I was… kind of. Something about… AI and emotions?”
She sighed dramatically and sat down beside him. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet, you still like me,” he teased, nudging her shoulder.
She rolled her eyes but smiled. “Unfortunately.”
The wind was gentle, ruffling Yelena’s hair as she leaned her head on Nero’s shoulder. For a moment, there were no words—just the quiet sound of leaves rustling and the distant laughter of people enjoying the evening.
“I wish moments like these could last forever,” Yelena murmured.
Nero glanced down at her. Something about the way she said it made his chest tighten. “Maybe they can,” he said softly.
She tilted her head to look at him. “How?”
He shrugged. “I don’t know… maybe memories are our way of making things last. Even when everything changes, we can hold onto moments like this.”
Yelena smiled, closing her eyes. “Then I hope I never forget this one.”
Nero didn’t say it out loud, but in that moment, he silently promised—he w
ould never let her forget
